It's really nice to see some new maternity brands emerging onto the market. With so many high street retailers either dropping their maternity ranges or moving them to online only it can be a struggle to shop for this important time in your life. I only wish these new brands had been around when I had been pregnant...

Yes that's right it's a box for your baby. The Babybox is a cardboard box designed for your newborn baby to sleep in! The box replaces the need for a traditional Moses basket or cot for the first 6 months or so of your babies life. Sounds a bit bonkers but actually it's an idea thats been around for a long time.

Three's a crowd, 3 is a magic number, to 3 or not to 3, that is the question.... It's something that's been playing on my mind (not my husbands please note!) a lot recently, will we or won't we have another child? Am I crazy?
Read moreRed Cross First Aid for Baby and Child
I recently attended the British Red Cross First Aid for Baby and Child course. I cannot recommend it highly enough! If you are a parent or carer please do this course, even if it's a refresher as things do change (such as conflicting info on how to deal with choking these days) and it is easy to forget the overload of information.

So Violet is now 2 months old and I thought it would be the right time to tell you about how we are finding it going from 1 to 2 children (so far). I wanted it to be an honest account from both mine and Liam's perspective so we have both written it, seperately, without seeing what each other has written....you can see his point of view in part 2 of this post here.

....I think was actually a bigger challenge and shock than having 1. You obviously kind of know what you are doing this time around (except for all the things that your brain has forced you to forget) but it’s having a little toddler running around while trying to remember how to change a newborn’s nappy that becomes a handful.

I've been wanting to write this post for a while now as I know it's a hot topic amongst my mum friends. I suffered (and still do!) from it with Finn and now having a newborn again it's really bought it home - mum guilt.

It's crazy to think I gave birth nearly 3 weeks ago now, it seems like much longer ago! I know not everyone likes to read or hear about giving birth but I am keen to document mine and I also hope its fairly positive considering it ended up being an unplanned home birth!

This is a taster of luxury British Baby Change brand Jem & Bea's second collection. I've been eyeing them up for a while now and it was nice to see what's going to be released for SS16 (from Mid February onwards). The brand was set up by 2 mums - an ex lawyer and ex accessories designer for Anya Hindmarch and Mulberry - after spotting a gap in the market for stylish and practical baby change bags.

With my due date rapidly sneaking up on me I've finally packed the hospital bag and thought I'd show you what I've taken this time round for the birth of baby 2 and a little bit of experience...

With a growing baby bump it's always nice to pamper yourself and ultimately try to avoid getting stretch marks! Personally I do think that you are either blessed with good genes or have a bit of a fight on your hands with it but just massaging and caring for your bump and yourself are really important.

Flowers (I don't own enough vases!), baby grows (often bought too small, especially if you have over a 9lb'er and they last a matter of days), teddies (unless they are the jellycat ones), baby record books (oops still haven't filled mine in for Finn), spa vouchers (not so fun by yourself and with lactating breasts), pink and blue stuff (often naff)....these are the classic baby/ new mum gifts.

Who's got a Christmas bump to show off? Black is always easy and flattering, bodycon is a strong look and will show your bump off proudly. Otherwise sexy lace sleeves seem to be the trend this year and statement accessories.

The Finlay Fox family is expanding! The time is nearly here (well less than 3 months to go) until baby number 2 makes her arrival, making us a family of 4. All very exciting but I confess I am a bit tired of the constant...

So I know we like to focus on the nice things in life here on Finlay Fox - shopping, cool clothes, gifts and treats for ourselves and kiddies - but the main reason for that is to make our lives a little bit happier each day as parenthood can be SO TOUGH! I know that when I had Finn I had NO IDEA how much my life would change and be all consumed by baby.
