Dresses, always my must have item as they are so easy to chuck on and wear, plus you can transform it with different footwear and accessories so are always a great investment piece. My number one criteria for my dream dress is one that is comfortable, secondly it must make my heart sing (Ganni dresses often have this effect) and lastly it must be versatile. Don’t save it for best, some of my fave looks at the moment are smarter dresses back with trainers, even for the school run!

This Topshop dress was a real find! The print has tiny horses on it! It’s a super sleek shape and the tie neck makes it feel a bit more grown up. A great piece for under £50. It’s also available here if your size has sold out on the Topshop website. I’m wearing a size 10 here as they didn’t have my usual size 12, the fit was ok in the 10 but a little snug under the boobs so I would probably go for my normal size 12. Topshop, £49
Ganni are my dream brand as they always make dresses that are comfortable to wear - this oversized babydoll dress shape means there’s lots of room for eating in! This cotton shape with it’s subtle floral print would work with boots for now and a tan and sandals for warmer days. I’m wearing a size 40 and would probably have tried the next size down as it was a little oversized. Ganni, £180
Print clashing done well. I like the vintage feel to the neckline of this dress which makes it a bit different. I would pop a leather jacket over the top, black or white boots would work. True to size (I’m wearing a size 12) Topshop £49
Soft, floaty and feminine floral midi dresses are a complete classic. This daisy print dress is so pretty and would work with sandals, heels or boots. I’m wearing the size 12 here but would probably size up as it was a little snug on my hips. Please note there is an opening at the back but it’s quite subtle so you could still have your bra on although it may be seen a little bit. Whistles £189
I picked this dress up as it was a little more unusual, the structured cotton/linen fabric, balloon sleeves and cutwork detail caught my eye. True to size. Really great value. Topshop £55.

Please note the boots I’m wearing in this post are these from M&S but have been very popular so may be sold out, I’ve found some alternative styles here…
