5 Outfits I'm Loving in February

So February may still be pretty chilly here in the UK but I’m definitely dreaming of warmer days and choosing outfits that can work with tights and layering for now. Rainbow knits, playful accessories, animal print, sustainable denim and vintage pieces are what I’m loving in my wardrobe at the moment. I’m also pleased to see hair accessories having a come back - it’s such a great way to update your wardrobe without spending too much money. I had some fun on the streets of Stoke Newington taking these shots (my first ever proper shoot on just me!) with Bekky Lonsdale who helped put me at ease, I was pretty nervous but I like the photos and hope to do more shoots like this in the future. In fact I’m thinking of trying to do a monthly feature on my outfits as I think it’s nice to share my finds and inspiration on dressing and outfit ideas. I’ve also tried to include some ethical and sustainable brands in the mix here to give some smaller less known brands doing good things some exposure too.

First up is this fun outfit with some mood lifting colour pops, I’m wearing dungarees and knitwear back with heels and socks, although I’d probably swap the heels for trainers for a more day/ school run look! These dungarees have to be the comfiest ones I own with lots of room for chunky knitwear to be worn underneath.

Next up is a dress that I already own in different colour ways. It’s such a great shape for me and I always think if you find a shape that works for you (a bit like denim) then it’s worth investing in. Zebra and tiger prints seem to be taking over from leopard this season but I think they are all good and timeless. I teamed the dress with my old Whistles leather jacket and the H&M trainers. The ugly trainer has been around for a couple of seasons now and I like the contrast of them back with a pretty dress. The velvet pouch adds a nice touch of glamour and would make the perfect bag for a wedding too, shame I don’t have any to go to this year!

I found the most beautiful vintage blouse at Laura Von Behr’s studio the other week which I know I will be living in this Spring Summer, it’s very Isabel Marant. Worn back with my Iden Boyfriend fit jeans. Iden is a sustainable brand who are committed to using organic and recycled fibers, reducing water usage and applying environmentally friendly trims to their denim. I love the fit, side stripe and frayed hems. Also pleased to have found the perfect high street version of the Chanel slingbacks!

Leopard mania continues via this feminine purple ruffle leopard dress by Iden. Tights and ankle boots for now and bare legs and sandals for summer. Pop a leather jacket or faux fur jacket over the top and you’re ready to go!

Lastly I’ve discovered the most beautiful new knitwear brand called Navy Grey. The pieces are investment styles (starting at £135) but the quality is luxurious and soft (not scratchy) and they have an environmentally and socially conscious supply chain from sheep to shop. The styles are a complete classic and I’ve been loving this relaxed fit knitted jumper in chalk which will carry me through into Spring Summer. The faux pearl hair clip is my latest find from Maison Archives who have a really good selection of hair accessories at the moment.
