As part of my #ShopSmall #ShopIndependent campaign this Christmas, I'm very excited about a new contemporary family Christmas Festival that's opening up on 1st December called Greenwich Winter Time Festival. There's nothing like a Christmas Festival to get you into the spirit and start start some of that all important Christmas shopping. I've always struggled a bit with Christmas Festivals and Markets in the UK - finding the products, food and entertainment slightly dated and unappealing. However this sounds like a different story...pitched as 'the most instagrammable market ever', it looks set to be a beautifully curated affair where not only can you can eat, drink and shop well, but you also get to ice skate, meet Santa, listen to music and watch some fab shows (I'm particularly excited about a screening of The Snowman accompanied by an East London brass band!). It's all set in the iconic world heritage listed Old Royal Naval College. I will be visiting on 2nd December and be feeding back my verdict!
The festival promises to feature the finest independent artists from London and beyond, design-led, creative brands, retailers and businesses. There is a whole host of Independent designers and brands (who will be housed in geometric framed pods) there for the all important shopping. Including (some of my faves) Amy & Ivor, Lapin & Me, Poco Nido, Esa Evans, The Lion Sparkles, Keri Kit, Rockbox, Forivor, Esmee Grey Designs, Lillipop, Eat Sleep Love and Knit Planet to name a few. A great opportunity to get some Christmas shopping done and support some smaller brands this Christmas.
Some of the yummy artisan food on offer (always very important for me!) will be from CrabbieShack, Pulled, The Wacka Wagon, Love Churros, The Chocolate Van, Tasty Italian Treats, The Taco Shed, Greenwich Kitchen and BKD. You can't go to a festival and not eat churros right?
Tickets from £15 for adults and £8 for children. You get a 3 hour time slot (2.30 - 5.30pm) to experience all the fun. What are you waiting for? Grab a ticket now!
