I know it’s what feels like day 1000 of rain here in the UK but I am still dreaming of the warmth on my skin and the change in seasons that will suddenly happen! I’m also trying to get better at writing and pulling together quicker and shorter off the cuff blog posts that spring to mind. So often I procrastinate and weeks go by with nothing getting finished, ha ha!
So on this cold, rainy February day, here are 3 items that are on my spring summer wishlist already! I am such a summer person. Does anyone else do this? Start planning summer looks and ideas so early?
I have a new obsession - peplums on trousers! If you have followed me for a while you will know I am an avid peplum lover. I was so excited to spot these on the Dissh website the other week. It is such a fun feminine idea and a really nice update for linen trousers this season. I also spotted some on the My Mum Made It website and the peplum is detachable! These ASOS ones caught my eye - balloon trousers with a skirt but are sadly sold out (re-stock alerts set though!)
I got the Dissh Gabby dress last year (this one in Cornflower) and it is an absolute fave! The perfect blend of short (but not too short), in cotton in a swing shape to cover lumps and bumps but fun and feminine too. Note it is very oversized so you may need to size down in it like I did to avoid sack chic! Suffice to say I now have an obsession with Australian brand Dissh who deliver on some seriously cool pieces. Yes they are a little on the spenny side but the designs are timeless investment pieces and the quality of the materials is great. This new Annabel dress caught my eye, yes it has a lace detail on it and I think it’s a really nice update, a great LWD! Imagine on holiday with a great basket bag, hat and sandals, yummy! They also do a longer length one here if you prefer to cover up your legs. It’s the sort of dress shape that suits lots of body shapes and ages.
British brand Rixo have been going from strength to strength recently and this boxy fringed set caught my eye when I spotted it on The Hambledon website (yet to find it on Rixo still!). It has all the elements I love - colourful embroidery for that handcrafted feel, vintage boho spirit and a relaxed boxy silhouette. I can see myself wearing this in Portugal and mixing the top with denim shorts too. I also spotted it as a dress version here. Holiday dreaming in this one for sure!
