OK so it’s February and it’s still pretty freezing out there but there are so many good coats and jackets around I wanted to share that can be worn now and into Spring. The main trends seem to be pastels (soft pinks, lilac, pistachio, dusty blue and dove grey tones), quilting, khaki utility (always my fave!), denim, borg, cosy fleece linings, shackets (shirt jackets), checks and layering /lining pieces such as gilets. A lot of these lighter liner jackets can be layered or revealed under a heavier over coat for now.
Layering rollnecks, hoodies and knits under lighter coats is a good way for wearing them now taking it down to just a lighter layer on those warmer days. The edit I have done is for more practical, everyday wear and running around town. For a midi floaty dress day I would wear a leather or denim jacket, trench or wool overcoat.
For country or rainy days you can’t go wrong with a Barbour (loving their collaboration with Alexa Chung too) and I still love COS, Kin at John Lewis and Arket for the nicest shapes in rain coats.
