With so many amazing brands offering a very important more responsible and sustainable approach, I had to do a gift guide dedicated to them this year. Brands such as The Small Home with an antidote to the modern-day mind-set of disposability, offering small runs of artisan made products. Also bigger brands such as Net-a-Porter Net Sustain - an edit selected to ensure that it meets at least one of their eight key attributes that take into account human, animal and environmental welfare and align with the fashion and beauty industries’ internationally recognized best practices. Other websites I have found useful for seeking out sustainable gifts are Thought, Selfridges Project Earth edit, Sust Style and White Label Project. For sustainable kids pieces please check out Slof. and Manifesto Woman (who also obviously have great womenswear too!).
All gifts selected for this edit have some sort of sustainable approach - be it recycled fabric, handmade, small runs or vintage fabrics. These pieces are manufactured, marketed and used in the most sustainable manner possible, taking into account both environmental and socio-economic aspects.
Please note some pieces are made to order so if you are thinking about it make sure you order it in time to factor the longer lead-time in. Click the images to shop…
