With the teaser of warmer weather we've just had here in the UK, I've been thinking about swimwear and started to spot some really gorgeous swim pieces that I wanted to share. All my favourite things seem to be going on with swimwear trends this year - stripes, ruffles, scalloped edges and colour. As always I think swimwear should be fun and it's a good reason to look forward to your holidays by investing in some nice pieces. I'm even loving the Bardot style off the shoulder styles which most brands seem to be doing this year. Please note I haven't tried these on so can't vouch how they work on real mum bods. However I am going to make the effort to try some of them on so I will try to feedback any ones that are specifically good for certain body shapes. I know the quest is tricky with swimwear!
As always good swimwear does sell out (especially the high street styles) so if you see something you think may work on you it is worth a try now, even if you may not be using it until later this summer. My technique is to try on as much as possible (and maybe get a spray tan) - there is something out there that you will feel ace in. Embrace your mum bods this summer!!
These are some of my top finds for SS18. Click the images or links below to shop.
Main Image at top: Rainbow Stripe Swimsuit from Warehouse, £36
1. V Cut Bikini Top & Bottoms by & Other Stories £23 / £23
I have high hopes that this is a nice cut in reality as the print is stunning and it also comes in plain orange too. Apparently they recommend sizing up with this brand.
2. Animal Print Swimsuit by Warehouse, £36
The back detail on this is stunning as well, can't go wrong with an animal print!
3. Lemon Print Swimsuit by Solid & Striped from Matches, £155
Just completely obsessed with this brand. This print is summer all over and I'm determined to try this shape on this year as I have heard such good things and it also comes in multi stripes!
4. Yellow Scallop Detail Bikini by Warehouse, £20/ £17
This looks very designer at high street price, I love the citrus colour and sporty feel
5. Smocked Swimsuit from Anthropolgie, £168
Expensive but very unique and glam, plus you could wear it as a top as well I reckon.
6. Printed Multiway Bikini from M&S, £22.50 /£16
Love this print and the higher waist pants. Plus always a bonus to be able to sunbathe without straps!
7. Salerno Bikini by Boden, £35/ £30
The most supportive string bikini you'll find! As someone who used to work as a buyer on swimwear at Boden (!) I know the effort they go to to make sure the fit is good and that they have all the decent trimmings - like secret support, linings and removable pads.
8. Ruffle Swimsuit by Monki, £25
My high street bargain find - love the print and the fact you can wear it on or off shoulder. Also comes in plain and as a bikini
9. Antibes Bikini by Marysia Swim from Matches, £118/ £118
Super pricey but currently obsessed with this luxury swim brand set up by a former ballet dancer.
Warehouse have a very similar one in bright pink at a much more affordable price point here if this type of style rocks your boat
10. Nadine Swimsuit by Solid & Striped fro Anthropolgie, £155
Stripes and ruffles. Also comes as a bikini
11. Shirred Floral Print Swimsuit by Ganni from Net a Porter, £130
So excited to discover this gorgeous brand does swimwear too! Love the retro feel
12. Yellow Ruffle Bikini by M&S, £36.50
I spotted this at the press day last year and remember how much I loved it! Stay out in yellow
