With party season creeping up I thought it would be a good time to share this blog post - styling a sequin skirt 5 ways. Not all of us will be brave enough (I encourage you to try it!) but you can wear a sequin skirt in the day - it can be dressed up or down which is why I love it. It’s fun and versatile and has endless options in how to wear it!!
For this blog post I’m wearing a sequin skirt by F&F Clothing (which was gifted to me) which sadly cannot be purchased online, you may be able to pick one up from your local Tesco store but as an alternative I have linked a few others I like at the bottom of this blog post.
1. With a grey marl sweatshirt, trainers and aviator jacket
A grey marl sweatshirt and white trainers are the perfect way to dress the skirt down. I’ve teamed it with a cosy aviator jacket but a leather jacket, denim jacket or khaki type surplus jacket would also work really well here. A cross body day bag would also tone it down.
2. With a black sweatshirt, camel coat, sock boots and clutch
Any kind of black sweatshirt or knit would work well here, the black from the top and boots makes it feel a bit more evening/ going out. It would work well for a girls night out, I like the camel coat back with the colours in the skirt and makes it feel more classic/ classy.
3. With a Tee, Boyfriend Cardi and Sock Boots
This Strong Girls Club Tee always works so well with a pencil skirt shape. She also does a black version here and the sweatshirts would also be brilliant with it. A chunky knit or boyfriend cardi gives this a more casual daytime feel and is the perfect way to cover your bum if you’re self conscious at all!
4. With a Navy Sweatshirt and cosy boots
I love the high low dressing of the casual sporty sweat and snow boots with the glamour of the shiny sequins here. Have a play around but you will find loads of cool ways you will be desperate to go out in!
5. With chunky knitwear and ankle boots
Excuse the old bobbled knit, it’s from last year and needs a good combing with a knitwear brush or shaver. Anyway I wanted to show what a long chunky knit looked like as I like the oversized proportions back with the fitted skirt.
Here are some other sequin skirt alternative that I thought looked nice. Remember charity shops and vintage shops are also brilliant for sequin party wear!
