Bohemian Kids Brand - Apolina

I'm a complete sucker for embroidery, ever since a trip to Mexico when I was 22 and the brightly embroidered smocks of Oaxaca caught my eye. There has been a lot of embroidery around the last couple of years and the bohemian look has been a big trend we have all bought into. New brand Apolina does not abide by trends, it goes by its love for nostalgia and Indian craftsmanship creating unique artisan embroidered clothes all ethically made. This is my favourite kids brand for AW17 and I'm very excited to show you some of the lookbook images and my selection of the best pieces. I think you'll agree there is something familiar and endearing about all the clothes, I hope you love it as much as I do and yes, I will be getting the Womens dress when it arrives so I can twin with V! If you're looking for a beautiful baby shower or new baby present to club together with friends to buy then make it one of the bonnets, bloomers or rompers, I don't know anyone that hasn't fallen in love with these pieces!

Apolina blends a modern, well-travelled aesthetic with a sense of nostalgic homespun craft. Each piece has been produced fairly and ethically with a considered approach to slowing consumption. With a focus on highlighting Indian craftsmanship, Apolina works with a family-run Indian manufacturer, who employs equal numbers of women and men (unusual for this industry). Ethical trading and production practices are strictly adhered to and workers are not only paid a fair wage, they are also treated as members of the extended family. Each item is unique due to the hand finishing of the garment and the free-hand machine embroidery is carried out by artisan embroiderers. Garments are produced in limited numbers through 'small batch' production. The prices may be a little on the top side but these are ethical pieces worth investing in and can grow with your child.
