So over the summer we have been testing out a lovely Cub bag that we were kindly sent from Bax & Bay. It's a multi-functional luxury changing bag that also acts as a feeding pillow and carry support. It's made of supersoft faux suede that is waterproof, stain resistant and hypo-allergenic, has a fully adjustable strap and fits across any buggy or pram. Inside are three good sized pockets and a padded foldable changing mat. So it's not your average looking baby change bag but I can say from having tested it out the last few months, at home and on holiday, it's been a really comfortable bag, useful sling and practical hands free travel companion.
I was a little worried that the strap wouldn't hold Violet as she is quite heavy now but it's super strong and the quality is really good, this is a luxury bag at £189 so you would expect the craftsmanship to deliver which it does. We love the khaki colour and little fox logo, also the fact that my husband could wear it too as it's fairly unisex. The bag also comes in lots of different colours and some with embroidered designs.
The cub bag has lots of space inside and is really comfy to wear, it's nice to take some weight off the hip when carrying V. It was particularly useful at the airport when they took the buggy away and we still had a fair bit of standing around to do. Other uses included using the bag as a beach pillow/ back support for V to stop her falling back into the sand, it's also great when riding a bike as it's cross body so you can be hands free. It was the perfect support when bottle feeding V and I can imagine if you were breastfeeding how good this would be to make a supportive pillow.
Bax & Bay was set up by super mama Lynsey Burns and the brand is named after her two children, Baxter and Bailey. She wanted to set up a brand where parents can maintain a sense of self and retain their individual style once they have had children. She wants to create products that parents love using because they are beautiful AND functional. She believes that you should never have to sacrifice style over practicality. All products are designed and handmade in the highlands of Scotland.
Also new for Autumn they are doing a clutch bag called the Baxter (£40) - a more compact changing bag which has a folding changing mat inside. We also tested this out and it was super useful as another compartment for carrying stuff for the beach and also as a clutch bag when nipping out to the shops (with a nappy inside, just in case!). I would also use this without the kids around, it's super useful and versatile. Both are really easy to clean and I've found marks and stains have come off surprisingly quickly.
The Cub bag and Baxter Compact are both practical and stylish and I really recommend them if you're looking for a new change bag/ accessory. They would also make great gifts for a new or expectant mum.
Bax and Bay are also doing some other great products as they expand their range including a fab Mama Fox tee and beach bag where £2 of every sale goes towards the Miscarriage Association. Also how cute are these little cub bags for kids?! Perfect for some twinning and also a practical bag for school, swimming and travel.
Bax & Bay are giving away a Mama Fox Tee (in the size of your choice) to one lucky person. To enter leave your name and email address below in the comments box, also check our instagram feed for extra entries, competition closes Sunday 14th August 2016.
